Purpose, inputs, and output
Use this procedure to add or revise public supplier information. Inputs are the current reviewed workbook, its source records, official contact/location pages, and a dated recovery copy. Output is a reviewed record, a change-log entry, and reconciled overview counts.
1. Preserve a recovery point
Make a dated private copy before editing. Record the workbook version, supplier ID, scope of the change, and person responsible. Keep the original source unchanged.
2. Verify the source and location purpose
Open the official contact, support, corporate, or legal page. Match the supplier and recorded location. Distinguish mailing, corporate, will-call, and physical locations; do not infer visitor or returns access.
3. Record only supported facts
Maintain the ID and category. Record the published address and business contacts, source URLs, checked date, and verification method. Leave unsupported contact fields blank. Indexed text must retain indexed-source status and an explicit follow-up note.
4. Maintain links and review fields
Keep the website anchor labeled Here. with the full official URL embedded. Update email status and source notes. Preserve the workbook’s hyperlink and protected review formulas; do not replace them with plain text.
5. Log the change
Record supplier ID, field, before, after, reason, official source URL, checked date, reviewer, and unresolved next action. Log research facts separately from interpretations or proposed outreach.
6. Check and reconcile
Compare each changed field with the source. Check required fields and duplicate supplier names, then reconcile record, address, email, and verification counts. Test the selector and relevant filter; inspect formulas for errors.
7. Hand off or restore
Provide the reviewed version, change summary, unresolved issues, and maintenance notes. If a batch is wrong, restore the dated copy or approved native version, then repeat the affected checks. Obtain the existing release review before external sharing.
Worked decision: Jameco / SUP008
The saved record has an address and phone from indexed official-page material. Direct retrieval returned 403, and the email was obscured. Keep the email blank, retain Indexed source and Not resolved, and record a fresh official-source check as the next action. Do not manufacture an email from a naming pattern.
Capacity and exceptions
The documented native table has 100 data slots, rows 7–106. Before exceeding that capacity, extend table, formula, validation, protection, selector, and summary ranges and retest. Escalate conflicting sources or unclear location purpose for review rather than silently choosing a value.
